Area Lighting
Problem:
Existing lighting did not comply with the Public Areas lighting code, and increasing crime was a significant problem affecting the safety and security of residents.
RCE Solution:
An award winning upgrade project was undertaken to improve landscaping and lighting at both sites. Building mounted floodlights were directed to areas of criminal activity.
Pathway lighting was upgraded using 150 watt metal halide pole top fittings on 5m poles to eliminate ongoing vandalism of fittings. Spacings of 12 to 14 metres ensured excellent pathway light levels and AS1158 compliance.
The outcome has been a dramatic reduction in criminal activity, and greatly enhanced amenity and security for residents.
